IBM said to have fired 700 freshers in India
IBM has already stated that India is an important market for them and a major hub for development.
Market rumors claim that the US based tech giant has fired as many as 700 freshers in India in the recent times.
These firings have been done in their entry-level trainee programmers (ELTPs) across their offices in India.
Sources claim that these workers had been working in the company for around a year and were posted at their technology practice groups across the country.
IBM had just this to say on these market rumors: “IBM is driven by a high-performance culture, a place where employees are able to contribute at the upper limits of their potential and continually build market-valued skills and capabilities in both formal training and experiential learning. In support of that expectation on the part of our workforce, we are pioneering new ways for our people to certify their skill levels as both a validation of their value to clients and to reinforce the quality of our employees’ personal skill sets.”
