Yahoo working on ways to avoid Microsoft takeover

Yahoo Inc. Chief Executive Jerry Yang wrote to company employees saying that they are looking at all the options and they are trying to avoid the situation where Microsoft would take over the company.

He added in the email: “Our board is thoughtfully evaluating a wide range of potential strategic alternatives in what is a complex and evolving landscape.”

He further said that the company board has not taken any decision on the recently filed hostile bid by Microsoft.

The company recently announced their decision to trim 1,000 jobs and if they get acquired by Microsoft, it could result in more job cuts.

Market analysts believe that if Yahoo manages to avoid the acquisition, they would have to do something special to keep the investors happy.
