Rumors on Google considering acquiring stake in CNet
CNET Networks share received a boost in the stock market as rumors in the market claim that the search engine giant Google is considering acquiring a stake in the company.
Market analyst William Lefkowitz was quoted as saying: “There is a rumor circulating that Google might have an interest in CNET. Therefore, the options volume has picked up dramatically on that rumor.”
Google has officially declined to comment on this rumor. Other analysts also believe that it is very unlikely that Google would be interested in CNet.
CNet is primarily a content generation company and Google has till now avoided acquisitions which give them access to portals.
