Chrysler to slim down to enhance profitability
US based automobile maker Chrysler is said to be working on plans to cut down on its dealership network and models to become a smaller but profitable entity.
The company is also considering plans to sell all three of its brands under one roof for the same reason.
Market sources said that the company currently has the dealership strength to sell 4 million vehicles per year but they are managing to sell less than half of it.
Chrysler President Jim Press had this to say on these reports: “The product portfolio has to consolidate. We don’t know how many models we’re going to have. Nobody knows that.”
He added: “We do know that if all three brands are not under one roof, the dealer will not have the opportunity to sell the full array of products and profit from it.”
