IBM to continue hiring in India
IBM was recently in news for firing around 200 workers earlier this month. However, the US based tech giant has now said that they plan to continue expanding their presence in the market and hire more people.
IBM already has around 73,000 people working for them in India at their global services and other operations.
Diane Gherson, vice president of human resources (HR) for IBM’s Global Business Services spoke about their plans for India: “Our business model is based on that range of attrition, and we don’t mind some attrition because it helps us get fresh talent, and offer growth to people in the organization.”
India is the second largest base for the company in the world after their home market of USA. It also is a very important market for the company generating revenues of about $1 billion per year.
