Ford to name their new small global car Fiesta

US based automaker Ford has revealed that they are going to name their next global car Fiesta.

This new car would be a subcompact model and would be designed in Europe.

They are going to launch a sedan model of the same car in other markets in the coming years.

The company plans to showcase a production unit of the car at the upcoming Geneva Auto Show.

Market analysts believe that the car would be based on their Ford Verve concept which they displayed at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2007.

Ford Chief Executive Alan Mulally spoke about their plans: “With the all-new Fiesta, we want to create a world standard for small car quality, design and comfort in a vehicle that is as exciting to drive as it is to look at. We believe this all-new model will attract a whole new generation of small car buyers.”
