Nokia Siemens Networks closing in on Ericsson in mobile network market
Market research firm Dell’Oro has said in a report that Nokia Siemens Networks is rapidly closing in on Ericsson in the mobile network market.
Nokia Siemens Networks managed to enhance its market share to 29 percent in the quarter from 25 percent a year earlier.
It gained from orders from the growing Asia-Pacific region.
Dell’Oro analyst Scott Siegler added in the report: “NSN has a slightly higher presence in these emerging regions than Ericsson. Nokia Siemens is definitely a very strong number two, and is coming on strong. But currently, Ericsson is the dominant player.”
Alcatel-Lucent remains the third largest player in this segment with Huawei matching the sales of Motorola. Nortel Networks dominates both Huawei and Motorola in this market.
