Schmidt, Brin and Page to take home USD 1 this year as well
Google is going to pay the top three guys at the top of the company, CEO Eric Schmidt and co-founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page just a dollar in salaries in the year 2006. They would also be forgoing any bonuses as well for the current year.
However, it is not exactly a worrying factor for these three individuals, as they own shares worth billions of dollars in the company, which has become an icon around the world. Google confirmed this in a proxy statement filed with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.
As per this report, Schmidt and Page earned bonuses of $1,630 in 2005, while Brin earned $1,723. Google’s statement said: “Their primary compensation continues to come from returns on their ownership stakes in Google. As significant stockholders, their personal wealth is tied directly to sustained stock price appreciation and performance, which provides direct alignment with stockholder interests.”
Google would also not be paying any dividends to their shareholders.
