MercExchange and eBay settle their patent related lawsuit

eBay Inc. has announced the settlement of their patent related lawsuit with MercExchange LLC.

The lawsuit was so relevant that it resulted in important intellectual-property ruling from the U.S. Supreme Court.

eBay said in a statement that they have now acquired the three MercExchange patents it had been accused of violating.

The two companies did not disclose the financial aspects of their settlement deal. eBay did say that this payment would not affect its financial results.

MercExchange’s founder Thomas Woolston spoke about this deal: “It seemed like the right time to put it behind us, so we did.”
