Reports: Mitsubishi Electric to exit mobile phone business

Nikkei business daily has reported that Japanese electronics maker Mitsubishi Electric is considering exiting from the mobile phone industry.

The company is expected to make an announcement on this sometime today.

They generate revenues of around $965 million from this segment of the market per year but the business is still not profitable for them.

The company has around 600 employees working in this division. If they do decide to exit from this industry, these workers are expected to be moved to other company divisions.
