Pioneer to stop manufacturing plasma panels

Pioneer Corp. has announced that they are soon going to stop production of plasma display panels.

The company aims to stop the losses in this division. They would now procure the panels from other companies as per their requirements.

Pioneer added that they are already in talks with Matsushita Electric Industrial to acquire these parts in the future.

Pioneer said in a statement: “We have judged that maintaining the cost competitiveness of plasma display panels, or PDPs, at projected sales volumes will be difficult going forward.”
