France to provide funds for QUAERO multimedia search project

The French government has said that they have won EU approval to provide funds to the QUAERO multimedia search project in Europe.

This project aims to develop a search engine to counter the growing popularity of Google in this segment of the market.

QUAERO would work on developing technology for working with all platforms. It aims to support desktops in addition to mobiles and television.

The project would sell its technology to TV companies, filmmakers, post-production facilities in addition to interested developers.
