Hyundai to establish a R&D unit in Hyderabad
The IT city of Hyderabad in India is mainly known for attracting the attention of the tech companies around the world. However, they have now managed to get Hyundai interested in them as the South Korea based automobile giant has announced their plans to setup a R&D unit in Hyderabad.
The company would be setting up a world-class research and development centre in Hyderabad in addition to a manufacturing unit in Andhra Pradesh’s Nellore district.
The deal was finalized after a five-member Korean delegation led by Lee Hyun Soon, Hyundai Motor group’s president for research and development, met Chief Minister Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy. The state government has agreed to provide 42 acres of land as desired by Hyundai for their research and development center.
Hyundai is one of the largest makers of cars in the Indian market and is expanding their facilities here to make it an export hub for their European markets.
