Sina preparing for upcoming Beijing Olympics
Sina.com is one of the most popular online destinations in China. The company has said that they are spending a lot of money on developing infrastructure to provide content from the upcoming Beijing Olympics.
Chen Tong, executive vice-president and editor-in-chief at Sina spoke about their preparations: “We expect 10 to 20 million internet users in total to watch the Olympic Games in China via video streaming simultaneously. And we are investing tens of millions Yuan to upscale our bandwidth to cope with the demand.”
China is one of the biggest online markets in the world and a lot of money would be at stake during the upcoming Olympics in online advertising.
