Lehman Brothers and Deutsche Bank to invest in Unitech
Market sources say that Lehman Brothers and Deutsche Bank are all set to announce that they are investing close to around $500 million in the real estate developer Unitech.
The two private equity players are said to be in talks with the India’s second-most valued real estate developer and they are likely to pick up a minority stake in the SPV it is forming for two commercial projects in Mumbai.
Unitech has declined to comment on this market report.
A market source stated: “Unitech has a land bank of 350 acres in Mumbai. The company is aiming to generate more revenues from Mumbai than NCR in the next two years.”
