Kingfisher: Deccan brand set to be history

Vijay Mallya, chairman of Kingfisher Airlines has said that the Deccan brand would soon become history as after the merger, Kingfisher would remain the name of the merged company.

He said in a statement: “Deccan will cease to exist because, after the merger, there will be only one company and that will be Kingfisher Airlines.”

Air Deccan was renamed Simplifly Deccan recently as the two companies started the process of merging together.

Mallya added: “On March 17, the Director General of Civil Aviation gave Kingfisher the approval to fly abroad from August 28.”

Kingfisher Airlines would be using the A-340-500 aircraft for its international flights.
