Discovery Communications planning a new channel launch in India
Discovery Communications operates three channels currently in the Indian market. These are: Discovery Channel, Discovery Travel & Living and Animal Planet.
The company is now planning to launch their fourth channel here in India. This new channel might be launched exclusively on the DTH platform.
Discovery Networks India Executive Vice-President and MD Deepak Shourie spoke about their plans: “We have a host of offerings at Discovery Communications and we may bring in a channel for the DTH platform exclusively this year.”
The company internationally has several options to pick from including: Discovery Health, Military Channel, TLC, Science Channel, and Investigation Discovery.
Discovery Networks India also announced that they are going to provide Hindi feed for Animal Planet starting next month.
