Toyota to decide on small car plan for India by this year end
Toyota Motor Corp has said that they would decide by the end of the current year if they want to enter the low cost small car market in India.
Company chief executive Katsuaki Watanabe was quoted as saying: ‘By the end of the year, we will decide whether the car will be mass produced’.
Toyota has been working on a small car project since the last two years and they are already testing a prototype model.
Tata has emerged as the most potent rival in this market when they showcased their Nano model. Tata Nano is likely to be launched in India by October.
