Microsoft to acquire ProClarity Corp.
World’s largest software company Microsoft has said that they are acquiring ProClarity Corp. The company said that this new acquisition fits in with the company’s business intelligence platform.
Microsoft uses this technology in their products like the upcoming MS Office 2007 suite. Business intelligence technology help companies mine mountains of information stored in databases and use the data to detect trend and patterns.
The financial details of this deal between the two companies were not disclosed to the media. It is just one of the many acquisitions Microsoft has conducted in the recent times to enhance their business intelligence segment.
Jeff Raikes, president of Microsoft’s business division said in a statement on this news event: “ProClarity has been a valued Microsoft partner for many years, with a strong R&D organization, more than 1,200 mutual customers and a sales force that already works closely with ours”.
