Yahoo not against Microsoft but expecting better offer
Internet media giant Yahoo might have rejected the latest offer from Microsoft for an acquisition deal but they have clarified that they are not against the company.
Yahoo is just expecting a better offer from Microsoft which gives more value to their shareholders.
Yahoo Chief Executive Jerry Yang and Chairman Roy Bostock said in a joint statement: “We are not opposed to a transaction with Microsoft if it is in the best interests of our stockholders. Our position is simply that any transaction must be at a value that fully reflects the value of Yahoo, including any strategic benefits to Microsoft, and on terms that provide certainty to our stockholders.”
Microsoft wants to acquire Yahoo to get access to their technologies as they aim to take on Google in the online search and advertising markets.
Microsoft had earlier stated that they are giving the company three weeks to accept their offer or they would directly approach their shareholders for a hostile takeover.
