David Dorman to become Motorola Chairman
David Dorman is set to become the new chairman of US based mobile phone maker Motorola.
He was at one point of time the chief executive officer of AT&T.
This is the latest attempt by Motorola to revive its struggling mobile phone operation which is struggling to compete against Nokia and Samsung.
The company has already announced that they are going to split up the company to separate their mobile business from other operations.
This announcement also comes just days after they accepted the demands from billionaire investor Carl Icahn to have his representatives on the company board.
Motorola CEO Greg Brown spoke about this new announcement: “Dave is ideally suited to serve as Motorola’s chairman and I am confident that our shareholders will continue to benefit from his industry knowledge and deep understanding of the company.”
