Telstra allowed to close down CDMA network in Australia
Australian government has said that they are now giving permission to Telstra Corp to close down its old CDMA network.
This has now been made possible as they have found a solution to the problem replacing the network in rural areas.
They had earlier declined them to close down the network as the new one based on 3G did not provide complete coverage.
A government representative said that the company has now made sufficient efforts to resolve the problem.
Telstra Country Wide managing director Geoff Booth said in a statement that most of their customers have already moved on to their advanced network and they are now working on moving the rest of the subscribers.
