Advanced Micro Devices post another quarterly loss
Advanced Micro Devices has now posted yet another quarterly loss as the company struggles to compete against the new processors launched by rival company Intel.
The company is placing its bet on their new Barcelona processors to gain some market share. This series is facing technical issues which the company claims it has resolved.
AMD Chief Executive Hector Ruiz said in a statement: “We believe will also have an opportunity to further restructure the company for increased focus and added flexibility, which places us in a better position to deliver sustainable, profitable growth.”
The company said that their first-quarter net loss narrowed to $358 million from $611.0 million in the same period last year.
