Office Depot in a joint venture with Reliance Retail

Office Depot has announced that they have now entered into a joint venture with Indian retail company Reliance Retail.

Reliance Retail is part of the Reliance Industries Ltd which is one of the largest companies in India.

The two companies added that they have also acquired eOfficePlanet to expand their offering in the market.

Charles Brown, President of Office Depot’s International Division added about this venture: “The joint venture with Reliance and the strategic acquisition of eOfficePlanet will put Office Depot in a leadership position in India.”

Reliance Retail has entered into similar ventures with other high profile companies including Pearle Europe and Marks and Spencer.
