Ford post a profit in the latest quarter
US based automaker Ford has surprised market analysts by posting a profit in the first quarter of the year.
The company gained from strong sales in their Europe and South America markets.
They also managed to lower their losses in the domestic market of North America.
Ford still said that the current year would be challenging as they are still recovering from the slowing economy.
The company added that they remain committed to making their domestic operations profitable by next year.
Ford reported net income of $100 million. This is a major improvement from losses of $282 million, or 15 cents per share, a year earlier.
