Toyota recalling 2008 Highlander and Highlander Hybrid
Japanese automaker Toyota has revealed that they are now recalling 90,000 model year 2008 Highlander and Highlander hybrid sport utility vehicles.
This recall is related to problems connected to child safety seats in third row seats.
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said that the lock involved in the seats apparently cannot secure properly when certain rear-facing child safety seats are used.
The report added: “As such, this could discourage the use of a child restraint and in the event of a crash; the child may not be adequately protected, possibly resulting in injury.”
Toyota added that they would be informing the owners of the vehicles by next month. They would be replacing the faulty component free of charge.
