Yahoo says they wanted to continue talks with Microsoft

Internet media giant Yahoo has now stated that they wanted to continue talks with Microsoft over a possible acquisition deal.

Yahoo boss Jerry Yang was quoted as saying: “We were negotiating a way to find common ground and then on Saturday they chose to walk away. They started it and they walked away.”

He added: “If they have anything new to say, we would be open. … I am more than willing to listen.”

Looks like the company is indeed looking for another offer and they might continue the deal if Microsoft comes back.

Microsoft backed out after Yahoo asked for a price they thought was too high. Yahoo continues to claim that they are worth more than what Microsoft is willing to pay.

Yahoo stock took a beating in the market yesterday after Microsoft announced that they are withdrawing offer.
