Sony posts a profit for the fourth fiscal quarter

Sony has posted a $277 million profit for their fourth fiscal quarter.

This is a much improved performance compared to last year when they had posted a loss.

The company gained from improved performance of their Playstation 3 gaming console.

Sony said that their full-year profit almost tripled to $3.5 billion.

The company has however warned that their profits will tumble more than 20 percent this fiscal year. This is mostly due to a stronger yen.

Sony Playstation 3 division is yet to generate profits for the company but it has been performing well in the recent months. Sales have improved with the new games appearing for this platform.
