Air Ticket prices in India to go up massively

Indian government owned oil companies have announced that they are now hiking the prices of the aviation turbine fuel as the crude oil prices are skyrocketing.

They are increasing the prices of the ATF for domestic carriers by around 20% and for international carriers close to 12%.

The new prices are applicable from today and this would mean that the airline companies would have to increase the prices of the tickets to meet the increased costs.

Market experts say that after this expected hike, traveling in Rajdhani first class would become cheaper compared to traveling in budget airlines.

An Indian Oil representative added: “We have hiked the ATF prices for domestic and international airlines in line with international crude oil prices. The hike for domestic carriers is in the range of 18 to 20% and for international carriers, in the range of 11 to 13% for the four metros.”

The oil companies in India are also pleading the government for permission to increase the prices of petrol, diesel and LPG.
