Best Buy test offers free program for e-waste recycling
US based retailing giant Best Buy has announced the test launch of their free e-waste recycling program.
The trial would include 117 Best Buy stores located in eight states in the USA.
The company said that they would collect discarded electronic equipments like television sets, computers at no charge to the user.
If the test is successful, they plan to expand the program to all of its 922 stores in the United States.
Best Buy spokeswoman Kelly Groehler added in a statement: “We want to take the time to learn if we can handle this before we go any further. We know the need is there and the waste stream is there. We think everyone needs to bear some responsibility for this — consumers, retailers and manufacturers.”
