Mercedes Group had their best month ever in March

DaimlerChrysler AG’s (DCX) Mercedes Car Group division posted their highest sales ever in the month of March this year. The company reported sales improving by around 17% to touch 138,400 cars. They had sold 118,000 cars in March last year.

In the first three months of this year, Mercedes group sold 295,000 units of their and Smart branded cars making it the best selling quarter in the company’s history. This was up by around 12% from sales of 262,900 in the first quarter 2005.

The company boosted their customer delivery numbers to the record level of 125,400 cars after 103,400 vehicles last year. Mercedes received improved demand for their new B-, M-, R- and S-Class models.

The month of March saw the company selling as many as 13,000 units of their Smart car. The first three months of the year saw sales of Smart car touching an impressive 29,000 units.
