SanDisk acquires MusicGremlin

Digital media player manufacturer SanDisk has announced that they are acquiring MusicGremlin.

MusicGremlin specializes in developing advanced digital content distribution technologies.

The two companies did not reveal the financial aspects of this acquisition deal.

SanDisk said that the newly acquired entity would become part of their Sansa audio/video business unit.

Daniel Schreiber, general manager and senior vice president for SanDisk’s Sansa audio/video business unit added: “MusicGremlin’s digital distribution platform and capabilities will provide SanDisk with adaptive and innovative technology that will play a key role in the development of future Sansa products for consumers.”

Robert Khedouri, co-CEO and co-founder of MusicGremlin would now join the Sansa team as vice president of services.
