John Chidsey is the new CEO of Burger King
Burger King has said that they are appointing President and Chief Financial Officer John Chidsey as their new chief executive to take the helm of the fast-food chain. The company is preparing to sell shares to the public and they need a great individual to head them in these exciting times.
Chidsey’s appointment as the new CEO of the company is immediate and he replaces Greg Brenneman. Brenneman has said that he would return to manage his own private equity firm, TurnWorks Inc.
He added in a statement: “As the company enters this important next phase, the board and I discussed the commitment necessary for any CEO in a public environment and my career and family goals. As a result, together we decided that the best time to transition leadership was prior to Burger King’s initial public offering.”
Ben Wells, senior vice president and treasurer would now become the company’s new Chief Financial Officer and Brian Swette, a current independent director would become a non-executive chairman.
