Toyota Motor to start manufacturing lithium-ion batteries in 2010
Toyota has announced that they would start full-scale production of lithium-ion batteries in 2010.
They are working with Matsushita Electric Industrial on this project.
This project is designed to power their initiatives to launch electric cars in the coming years.
Toyota is already the world’s dominating maker of Hybrids.
The joint venture between the two companies is named Panasonic EV Energy and it is already manufacturing nickel-metal hydride batteries used in Toyota’s hybrid vehicles.
