AT&T could start charging extra from massive downloaders

AT&T has said that they are considering charging extra from users who download excessively.

A company representative said: “A form of usage-based pricing for those customers who have abnormally high usage patterns is inevitable.”

AT&T claimed that the top 5% users on their network end up consuming 46 percent of the total bandwidth.

They have not revealed any probable price increase for these users.

Time Warner Cable is one ISP in the US market who has already launched data transfer limited packs for their customers.

Some other ISPs are known to slow down speeds of users who download way too much in a particular month.
