Peter Cooper-Ellis joins SpringSource

SpringSource has announced that Peter Cooper-Ellis is now joining the company to head the development and product management of SpringSource Application Platform.

He was previously the head of the BEA Systems WebLogic engineering team.

He was also one of the many executives who were not offered a job by Oracle after they acquired BEA Systems.

SpringSource said that he would be senior VP of engineering and product management.

Cooper-Ellis spoke about this development: “It is natural to take the Spring components and extend them into the infrastructure layer.”

Rod Johnson, CEO of SpringSource added: “Peter is a heavyweight in the enterprise Java market.”
