China Mobile signs up a mega deal with Alcatel-Lucent
China’s leading mobile service provider China Mobile has revealed that they have signed on a US$1 billion deal with network equipment maker Alcatel-Lucent.
This deal is for supplies of a range of wireless networking and 3G hardware.
This new deal expands their existing partnership which has been continuing since quite some time.
With this Alcatel-Lucent would now become one of the primary suppliers of 3G mobile technology based on the country’s home grown wireless standard, TD-SCDMA.
Samsung Electronics is already providing mobile handsets powered by this technology as it would be showcased during the upcoming Beijing Olympics.
