Ford Small Car in India by 2010
US based automaker Ford plans to launch their small car in the Indian market by 2010.
Indian automotive market is dominated by small cars and to get volumes it is essential for any company to have a small car in its portfolio.
Rivals GM already have two products in this segment of the market (Chevrolet Spark and Chevrolet UVA).
Ford India managing director and president Michael Boneham said in a statement: “Small car segment holds 75 per cent in Indian market and when we launch the small car that’s when the real volumes will come in.”
Tata is scheduled to come out with their Nano model in the Indian market which is going to set new standards in terms of affordability.
