Emirates introduces Kolkata-Dubai flight
Dubai-based airline company Emirates has announced their first flight from Kolkata to Dubai. They are offering special introductory fares for return travel. This flight is part of the company’s plan to connect eight new destinations to its global network in 2006.
Emirates Airline has also said that they would operate six non-stop direct flights per week between Dubai and Kolkata. Airline’s executive vice-president commercial operations worldwide, Ghaith Al Ghaith said in a statement: “Kolkata is our seventh Indian gateway after New Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Chennai, Kochi, and Thiruvananthapuram.”
The company has announced their inaugural fares of Rs 15,500, Rs 35,000 and Rs 43,000 for return travel on economy, business, and first class respectively. These rates would be valid till the month of October this year.
Emirates Airline added that they would be operating the airbus A330-200 aircraft on the route in three and two-class configurations. Ghaith added on their upcoming plans: “Our services will open up a whole new world of business opportunities for Kolkata`s corporate and air freight industries that can leverage emirates` 143 weekly flights into 13 Middle East destinations.”
