Wi-Lan takes on Motorola, Research in Motion and UTStarcom
Canadian company Wi-Lan has announced that they are now suing Motorola, Research in Motion and UTStarcom.
This lawsuit is related to patent infringement claims made by Wi-Lan.
The company said that they have filed on this lawsuit in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas.
They are claiming that the products made by these three companies infringes on their patented technologies.
Wi-Lan added that they have cash reserves of around C$92 million to fight patent suits and negotiate deals.
They are pretty famous for these lawsuits as they had earlier targeted 22 major technology manufacturers, including Apple, Dell, Hewlett-Packard and Intel for similar patents related lawsuits.
