Leonard Downie Jr. steps down as executive editor of Washington Post
Washington Post has revealed in a statement that their executive editor Leonard Downie Jr. is going to step down from his position in the coming this September.
The company added that he would become the vice president of the company and would remain in the company.
They would announce a replacement in the coming weeks.
Downie joined Washington Post as a summer intern in 1964. He was named the executive editor at WP in 1991 when he took over from Ben Bradlee.
