Palm posts a loss of $43.4 million
Palm Centro might be a super successful product for the company but it could not save the Palm from posting a loss.
Palm has posted a loss of $43.4 million, or 40 cents per share in the most recent quarter.
This is disappointing compared to a fourth-quarter profit of $15.4 million, or 15 cents a share last year.
The revenues are also down to $296.2 million from $401.3 million for the same period last year.
Palm said that they suffered due to falling sales of their Treo range of Smartphones.
Palm CEO Ed Colligan spoke about the company’s performance: “The Centro is a smash success. We have a competitive product pipeline and are developing a world-class software platform. I expect together these efforts will develop positive results in the coming years.”
