Tennessee to get the latest Volkswagen US plant
Volkswagen has announced that they would establish their latest manufacturing plant in the US market in Tennessee.
This move could pump in as much as USD 1 billion in the local economy of Tennessee.
The European automaker said that they picked up this location due to its proximity to Alabama and Michigan.
This news is however a disappointment for Michigan which is losing its sheen for automakers.
Phil Bredesen Tennessee Governor spoke about the new developments: “This project will have a significant impact on the economy of Tennessee and the region for decades to come”.
This plant is expected to start manufacturing by 2011 and would employ 2,000 people.
