BMW could bring hybrid car to India
BMW could become the next major international automaker to bring their hybrid car to the Indian market.
Honda is already selling the hybrid version of their Civic here in India.
BMW Senior Vice-President, Asia Pacific (excluding China) and South Africa, David Panton said in a statement: “In the next 18 months the hybrid vehicle from BMW will make its international debut. There is a possibility that it could find its way to India.”
BMW has had a successful stint here in India as they are easily able to surpass their targeted sales.
The company could bring this new model to India in the next 18-24 months.
BMW is developing their hybrid vehicle under its EfficientDynamics programme. They had showcased the ConceptX6 ActiveHybrid at the 2007 Frankfurt Motor Show.
