SK Telecom not aiming to acquire Sprint
SK Telecom has clarified that they have no plans to acquire any US based mobile service provider.
The company is instead interested in discussing a strategic partnership to develop new handsets and services.
Market sources had claimed that SK Telecom was in talks to acquire Sprint.
SK Telecom said in a statement clarifying their stand: “We are studying various business opportunities in the United States but are not seeking to take control in (any) major U.S. mobile operator.”
SK Telecom had a stake in the smaller player Helio in US. The company was later acquired by Virgin Mobile.
