Tata might let Fiat sell Tata Nano abroad
Fiat had stated that they were interested in collaborating with Tata to sell their Tata Nano model outside the Indian market.
Tata Motors Chairman Ratan Tata has now said that they are open to the idea.
Tata is scheduled to launch the Nano model in the Indian market later this year.
When it is launched, Tata Nano would become the cheapest car in the world.
It is likely to be priced at around USD 2500 for the base model though no confirmations have been made.
Ratan Tata said in a statement: “We have held talks about the Nano being marketed in markets where Fiat has already a strong presence. I am open to consider a partnership.”
