Blue&Me from Fiat and Microsoft
The two giants of their industries Fiat and Microsoft are collaborating together to release a software product for automobiles. The two companies would be launching Blue&Me based on Windows Mobile for Automotive at the 2006 Geneva Motor show later this month.
This would make it one of the first such launch by an auto company in collaboration with a software company. It would be a significant milestone in the evolution of in-car communication, infotainment, and entertainment systems.
Fiat would be making this new product available to all vehicles in the Fiat, Alfa Romeo and Fiat Commercial Vehicle ranges. The two companies joined hands together in 2004 with a long-term strategic partnership for developing innovative automotive telematics systems.
Fiat would be incorporating this product on their Grande Punto, Alfa Romeo 159, 159 Sportwagon, Brera, and Spider models from this year itself. This would be expanded to the entire fiat range in the coming years. The software application guarantees maximum-security levels and user-friendliness.
This technology would be compatible with a large number of devices such as mobile phones, Palms, and MP3 players.
