Infosys to invest heavily on a new campus in Hyderabad
Infosys Technologies has announced that they are planning to invest Rs 1,250 crore to create their single largest campus in Pocharam near Hyderabad.
This new location would play host to as many as 25,000 engineers.
The first phase would be ready in three years and would require an investment of around Rs 600 crore.
Infosys Chairman and Chief Mentor of Infosys, Mr N.R. Narayana Murthy spoke about this project: “We typically plan with a ten-year timeframe in mind and this campus notified as a special economic zone could be possibly the biggest single location campus anywhere in the world.”
Infosys Director Mr Mohandas Pai added: “As a part of its drive to become carbon neutral, Infosys is designing this campus on best-in-class sustainability principles to achieve energy efficiency, water sustainability, preservation and promotion of biodiversity and effective waste management.”
