Infosys posts revenues of $2.15 billion
One of the most respected IT companies in India; Infosys has said that its revenue for the fiscal year that ended in March exceeded $2 billion. This is the first time; Infosys has touched these levels in their 25-year history amid strong growth in the information technology industry.
Infosys chief executive officer and managing director Nandan Nilekani said in a statement on this amazing achievement: “It took us 23 years to reach the first billion dollars in revenues while we reached the next billion dollars in 23 months.”
Infosys posted revenues of $2.15 billion during the year and have said that they expect this figure to improve by a massive 28 percent to 30 percent in the fiscal year through March 2007. This would see them touching revenues of between $2.76 billion and $2.8 billion.
The company added that they managed to attract as many as 38 new clients in the fourth quarter. In addition, they hired 15,965 people over the past fiscal year. Infosys now have around 52,715 employees on their payroll.
