Ratan Tata: We would shift Tata Nano plant from Bengal if asked
Tata Motors Chairman Ratan Tata has said in a statement that they would move away from Bengal if the protest against their automobile plant continues.
Tata is building their latest plant in the state to manufacture their upcoming Nano small car.
He said in a statement to the media: “I’ve made a major investment here … to move will be at a great cost to Tata Motors and to shareholders.”
He added: “there is a concern about our people, a definite concern about not being wanted.”
Tata has the support of the state government but opposition parties have been continuously protesting their new plant.
